This might explain the American experience but what about the rest of us? I do agree with your assessment and I admire your courage in tackling this topic. The best thing I’ve read in quite a while. The smoke of Satan did enter into the Catholic Church in the 50’s. Vatican 2 and the chaos coming out of that are the results. It makes sense that our mental health crisis exploded when morality imploded. I’m still pretty sure we have mental health problems, physical illnesses and spiritual problems needing diagnosis and specific treatments. But I’m a mental health therapist so I’m biased that way.

Not sure which of the essays you’re speaking of, Elizabeth (I released the second one in the series today). I should clarify that when I say America or American, I could just as easily be talking about Canada or the UK. Also, since I’m not writing a comprehensive book on the subject of MI, but more a mystical treatise based on my own experiences, I’m going to be a bit selective in my references. It doesn’t change what I believe, mind you. I want to thank you for your reply and look forward to continuing the discussion. Bless, M

I’ve read both of your essays but was referring to this one. (Which I think is the second one but I could be wrong) Thanks for answering The question about the American part. I get a bit triggered when Americans seem to forget that there’s a whole world outside the USA & we’re not all Americans reading your work. Your ideas do apply to the western world in general as it seems we’re all culturally assimilated into the same sludge. I’m quite aligned with your philosophy and I understand what a huge topic you’re covering. Your approach is relatable and coherent.
